First 'frickin' – now 'F**king' in a title?

What!Last week I talked about how there was a bunch of crazy guys out there somewhere who write a very popular blog and recently, it got a little racy, considering they were showing pictures of a shark with a ‘frickin’ laser beam strapped on it’s back. So, since then, the site has used the word freaking about 1000 times.

But, not to be overdone, one of my favorite sites, The Register (theregister.co.uk) ran a story this afternoon, which, well, is entitled ‘Brits Steal Carloads of F**king Austrian Roadsigns’. Lester Haines took the time to write this lovely story, and i think it’s only proper that it be repeated herein. You see, there isn’t anything in life more fun than when you have the F**k family in your town. Note, children under the age of 18, should not read on.

Canadian Prude bashes Sexuality of Publicly Funded Employees

Pamela Anderson and her 38 year old self. Get it girl!Over at Nemesis Destiny, Ron Bees has posted a story about his recent visit to the police station. He had ordered a copy of his background check for a job application that didn’t pan out and ends up panning the personal workspace of the police employees.

Ron starts the article whining how

After 30 days, they’re supposed to destroy them, but they didn’t, and instead called me last week to let me know they’d be keeping it a few more days. So I went to get it today. That went swimmingly…

Then the trouble starts. Continue reading

US Homeland Security Agency Announces more Passenger Friendly Procedures

Department of Homeland SecurityThe hot topic of the moment is the OHS/TSA‘s announcement that they are attempting to revise the current security procedures at airports – reducing the amount of “futzing” that the passengers must do, such as removing shoes and unpacking everything, always getting pulled aside for a manual search when you get the ‘lucky ticket’ and there are the lines. The long lines that plague every airport I’ve seen, in this country.

So, they are taking a very positive spin on the ‘less intrusiveness’ necessary to properly do their job. They feel if they let, assumedly, technology assist them in a generalized screening, which can provide much better information than the system today, which is based nothing which is realistically verifiable or verified, at all. Now, I realize I am not an investigative reporter, but I do have some insight, and it’s not a pretty picture.

S – Sprint and Nextel now one letter and company

The new Sprint/Nextel - Sprint LogoS stands for the new “Sprint / Nextel” Combined company – and this deal, worth $35BB, brings the total number of subscribers up to 44 million, just under Cingular and Verizon. As the third largest US Cellular Carrier (or PCS Carrier, as they would like to be called), it will be interesting to see where this goes.

Sprint has had boring phones for years, as has Nextel, unless you are a “on-the-jobsite and want a phone that takes a beating” kinda guy. Nextel utilizes a SIM card, which provides some confusion as to their NON-GSM network and people think unlocked phones will just work. Well, remember now, they don’t. Continue reading

'Get your Frickin laser beams here.' – What is this stuff?

PluckBlogs are a very powerful tool which allow an individual to communicate freely to the world. Although to some it may seem far from that of being onstage in a stadium full of people cheering your name, but a quick review of visitor logs helps bloggers feel that they are somewhat appreciated, in the whole ‘Web 2.0′ kinda way.

CNET was not going to be left out of the blogging arena, after the successes of the reader and archiver sites, the Engadget network, and so many more extremely popular blog sites that we are unable to mention. CNET gave birth to Blogma. Blogma is a great site and the similarity of Blogma to Dogma, which is obviously the source of the (second half of the) word, gives much more meaning to it’s ‘depth.’

Pluck is getting increasingly popular and their daily “RSS Feed of the Day” is also growing in form and volume. The early posts may have been short and sweet, they are now long and robust, so to speak.
