Narcissism Malignant Self Love – Revisited

Narcissism is a topic not too many tend to discuss, unless of course it is flattering for them. Stumbling upon this posting was an eye opening experience into the mind of a narcissist.

Introduction

Hello. Recognise me? No? Well, you see me all the time. You read my books, watch me on the big screen, feast on my art, cheer at my games, use my inventions, vote me into office, follow me into battle, take notes at my lectures, laugh at my jokes, marvel at my successes, admire my appearance, listen to my stories, discuss my politics, enjoy my music, excuse my faults, envy me my blessings. No? Still doesn’t ring a bell? Well, you have seen me. Of that I am positive. In fact, if there is one thing I am absolutely sure of, it is that. You have seen me.

Perhaps our paths crossed more privately. Perhaps I am the one who came along and built you up when you were down, employed you when you needed a job, showed the way when you were lost, offered confidence when you were doubting, made you laugh when you were blue, sparked your interest when you were bored, listened to you and understood, saw you for what you really are, felt your pain and found the answers, made you want to be alive. Of course you recognise me. I am your inspiration, your role model, your saviour, your leader, your best friend, the one you aspire to emulate, the one whose favour makes you glow. Continue reading

Um – have we gone too far with the Rotten Dog?

Rotten DogBlogging is one thing. It’s part of the Web 2.0 movement and the worlds goal to interconnect everything in every way possible for some reason – primarily I believe to trigger better Google AdWords Ads, but then again, that’s only my opinion. Seeking ‘stardom’ from blogging isn’t most people’s obsession, but to some, the more shocking and violent, the better they think it may be.

I think the French need to take a long, hard look at themselves and their attitude towards homosexuals. Sure, there’s only one gay couple here in town, but even the Klan decided to turn a blind eye when it found out they were card-carrying members of the NRA.

Porn? In GoogleBase! Cookie Exploits! Wow!

Google-Un-Based?GoogleBase has been a big hit around the globe, especially now that lots of porn got past the SafeSearch feature and there was great xxx listings all over the place!

Furthermore, an exploit allowed people to access users gMail. Is anyone concerned? I mean, I love Google more than most things in life, but isn’t there some type of responsibility to ensure security on email more than anything else – and defending their hosting it on the same domain as the GoogleBase?

Well, last time we talked about Google and a Base, it was called the “Googlunaplex,” if you can san that twice, you are a winner!

So, what exactly is all this hubbub about? Continue reading

MS charged with 'Red-Ink' Game: Selling XBox @ a Loss

Xbox 360

Xbox sold at a $126 loss?

Microsoft is a notoriously profitable company. Bill Gates is the crown jewel of wealth from MS, in fact, 80% margin on most of their products is pretty normal. So why not loose a few bucks to get XBox in Every house? HP sells printers at what has to be a loss – but their ink makes up for it. Now do not forget that the $126 loss is over when the box goes home — there are many other opportunities for down-line revenue. Lots.

XBox Live. Monthly fee. Game cartridges – the game manufacturers have to license the right to build on the platform, so there’s either a few pennies or a few dollars on every game sold – and that’s millions. So, in the end, yeah, they are gonna pay the piper. But my big question is, I mean, they have had these units available around the country for sometime. They will openly share what hardware is inside of these babies, and only today everyone figures out they are selling a loss-leader? Continue reading

Jose Padilla Indicted after 3 Year Detainment

Jose Padilla Charged after 3 Year IncarcerationPublic Enemy # 1? That’s sure what they make him look like. Personal freedoms are something we take for granted as Americans. Jose Padilla may not be feeling the same after finally being indicted after three years – arrested in Chicago in 2002. Now, I realize that it’s been three years and that our photographic abilities and technological improvements have been great during that period of time, but is there any reason that this photograph must be used to portray Mr. Padilla?

The US Attorney General in 2002, John Ashcroft, initially described the suspect, Jose Padilla, as plotting with Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda network. He was purportedly involved in a plot to detonate a “dirty bomb,” somewhere in the US. Last year, Jose Padilla was involved in a plot to level apartment buildings. Today’s indictment didn’t include either of those claims. Continue reading

Tivo on your iPod and PSP

TivoTivo to Go promised to allow network viewing of programs on other devices. A cool app that lets them play on the iPod and PSP is only an extension – right? Well, it seems that TiVo wants you to think it’s something new!

First of all TiVo needs to make the guide FREE. They can’t anticipate a long-term revenue model on information that is FREE. It’s free from everyone – the cable company, the newspaper, online everywhere as well as included neatly in Media Center – conveniently also available in the sub-$150 ‘remote’ media center units, including XBox and XBox 360 with WinMCE. Let me make it clear, I love to use Media Center – it’s clean (still not cluttered with ads) and you can do what you want, when you want – and it’s FREE! Continue reading

xBox 360 Debuts with Limited Supply

Microsoft xBox 360Microsoft’s release of XBox 360 has been sweeping the country the last 24 hours – the gaming party to launch in California on G4 TV, people camping outside of Circuit City – it’s all in a product launch for Microsoft.

Well, you see, these same geeky guys who game like freaks, a lot of them are also linux ‘script kiddies’ who love to hack and play with code. Javascript has become some of their passions with the growth of MySpace and it’s ability to transform into something else with CSS Stylesheets. But xBox, that’s just like getting kids to smoke pot so someday they’ll try cocaine.

Isn’t it? Continue reading
