Baseball is NOT a safe sport by the sound of today’s headline in Miami Sports:  “Cubs Player Impaled by Broken Bat.”  You read it right folks, while standing on third base, Welington Castillo took bat, hitting a homerun — and at the same time impaling his team mate on third base.

While the bases were loaded, and all runs made it in, there is stark evidence that breaking bats are a problem, perhaps something can be done to better control that…
