While at the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) awaiting a flight back home to Miami, it was just as you expect – every single person in the waiting area was using a phone, laptop or portable gaming device. The kids had their DS chargers in the
Samsung phone charging stations, tethered to their seats while they played away.
The one thing that did stick out, however was this big ass laptop which some guy (who looked like he may be from Kentucky or another more “country” state, however was awaiting a flight to Texas, so it’s quite possible…. where am I going with this? Oh, yeah, and he is using this big ass laptop circa ’93 or so, yet running Windows XP, while I expected to see the ME or 95 logo on it.
I guess that while the majority of us want the fastest, biggest and baddest computing device we can find, some people are absolutely content with their old, slow, big ass laptop. We remember how wondrous using these devices were back in the day, but now don’t appreciate the true wonder of them.
Maybe we should. (NOT!)
