Craigslist has been unable to catch a break from the ongoing pressure by many attorney generals across the country. In response, instead of simply removing Adult Services from the lineup on their site, they have chosen to replace it with a “censored” link in reverse type.
Is this a passive-aggressive message that the government is pushing too far? Sure, a couple girls reported their story of being sold like fast food via Craigslist, but at the same time, there have been individuals who count on the Adult Services category for a living, providing legitimate services. Should the site next remove “Adult” job postings?
Last I checked, people are hired to have sex with others on a regular basis — it’s called porn. If someone can be forced to turn 12-15 tricks a day (and remember, performance is part of the job and satisfying your customer critical to achieving the end goal), how could they not be forced to also be the center of a gangbang or bukkake scene? Then should strip clubs be the next target? Where does it end?
I am a busy Artist with a studio in Lake Worth. A chicken I abducted from key West has recently stopped laying, and eggs are essential to my work. IN SHORT, I need a chicken whisperer. It has also taken to drinking large quantities of stale beer from miller lite can’s torn apart in my frustration, that now litter my back yard. In replying to this add, please use the utmost discretion, as I believe I am in violation of several city ordinances. You can not possibly be detected in your assistance with the issue as my coop is well concealed, surpassed only by, possibly, some old Kentucky boys weed patch. In your quest for me be aware I drink at Igots, eat at Daves, Brogues and Rum Shack. I have longish red hair, goatee and am quite approachable, except by law enforcement.
For Sale or Trade: A 6 Month old baby. Sports Cars preferred – you heard it right. In my ongoing quest to call out the oddities which appear on Craigslist, today a local Florida news station captured the moments on tape when a local resident discovered it.
Craigslist obviously took down the ad, but that doesn’t change the fact that people are crazy. Craigslist continues to be under scrutiny as a trading ground for sexual enslavement and other goof-ball ideas that just aren’t true. Well, unless you are visiting Craigslist Bali or something… Continue reading →
It’s not the first time it’s happened. People play pranks – but these people put fake ads on Craigslist usually telling a story that they have to leave town soon, are moving or another line – and offer all the belongings in their home for free. You heard me right, FREE.
But the problem is, it’s not their stuff – and it’s not their home. These are people putting up ads for people to take anything they want, for free, from someone else’s home.
Police are inviting property takers to return any items no questions asked. Putting fake ads on craigslist is nothing new – sometimes people just do it for the shock value of the responses. But this, guys, isn’t funny. Check out the video.
Okay, well, that’s not the title of the actual post from Craigslist, but I had to be creative to be non-offensive and use acceptable terms. Tonight I may have found another incredible, yet offensive, ad that shows you will find most anything on Craigslist.
Okay, I admit it – I’m a Craigslist junkie. On it more than my iGoogle or myYahoo homepages. Yeah, that bad! Now and then, while surfing Craigslist.com you spot something that is, well, bizarre. With that said, I introduce a new column: ‘Only on Craigslist.’
