Someone tell me that there was a push nationwide for people to include an ‘SMS Signature’ automatically on each of their text messages. For some unknown reason, in the last week, suddenly, everyone has a freaking signature on their text messages.
Now most people do sensible things - like put their name. ‘Pete’ was [...]

Tech Junkie Crisis: Sleeping with the Enemy
Seen any stories on the web lately about the iPhone? Yeah, it is completely consuming the entire spectrum of media, websites and blogs from top to bottom. This, however, is a story you won’t find anywhere. Why? It’s more of a Spanish-TV style ‘novella’ in the making about the iPhone.
Okay, so by [...]
Nokia makes a lame-duck effort to be Green
Nokia, attempting to provide ‘Green’ in their business reputation, announced today that they would be releasing a new feature on upcoming models which ‘beeps’ and provides visual notification that the battery is charged and should be unplugged.
This was an effort developed in collaboration with other European companies and regulators to reduce emissions and power usage. Is this really the best that they could come up with? A software change that triggers a noise and message beckoning the user to unplug the device?
How about this, Nokia and EU green party: How about you enable the phone to turn off any power consumption after the battery is fully charged, allowing it to start recharging after a 10% or greater battery capacity loss. Is this so difficult for it to turn off it’s hunger for electricity, power and connection to the living, electric world?
California drivers get up to 5 years to get headsets
While Schwarzenegger admits it’s dangerous to drive while holding and talking on a cellular phone, he somehow found a legitimate reason to exclude Emergency-Service Providers from the law taking effect July 1, 2008 (yes, in two years) and delay implementation among Nextel (push-to-talk) commercial drivers until 2011.
So, could someone explain to me why a $15-$20 headset isn’t just as good for them too? There are push to talk headsets, as shown above (Photo Credit: Nextel) that allow commercial drivers to use the same type of headset as everyone else. And Emergency Service vehicle operators should only be allowed only to use in them in the event of failure of all other communications devices, and they should have headsets anyway. But isn’t there something even more threatening to the masses?
Texting while driving. It’s becoming a more and more common event, which of course started with Blackberry users, and it continues today, evolving more and more acceptable. Stop it!
Cellular ‘exclusives’ are violation of Fair Trade
First of all, these ‘exclusive’ offers are bullshit. Simply delaying the availability of a product to other users. We all know that it wasn’t until the rollout of EVDO that Verizon data service was even acceptable. Now, GSM users - where you gonna get a phone? Huh?
Is this the Vaio from Sony’s teaser campaign? - Engadget
Engadget is always getting the hot news first it seems this day.. So, there they go again, showing the hot new VAIO that’s forthcoming from Sony. Of course, it could be a complete spoof like some of the other telephone models we’ve seen from Engadget, sometimes funny as heck. I just want one [...]

Intellisync slides past Bill into Nokia’s Hands… I love it!
Nokia announced they have acquired Intellisync - the longtime organization tool between your mobile device (formerly known as PDAs) and your PC. Microsoft has ActiveSync, so I guess they are good (I woulda sued them!). But kudos to Nokia for pulling it out from under MS.
