Infographics are so freaking cool
I love Fast Company for many reasons, and one of them – are the infographics that they like to put on their site. Cleverly organized masses of data which are cleanly represented in a beautiful design. As an example here … Continue reading
Camouflaged Angels in USDA War Poster Overly Friendly?
Fast Company ran an article which detailed a collection of USDA WW II posters which were meant to influence the nation to produce more, conserve and ensure the US and their allies had sufficient supply to fight the war. But … Continue reading

Centralia PA – Abandoned and Forgotten?
What does a community do when underground coal catches fire? Easy – the government pays off everyone to leave, they rip down all the houses and call it a day. Well, at least that is the short of it after … Continue reading

BP Saw Offshore Cleanup as a Game in 1970
Blokes from the UK are showing off a game released in the 70’s called the “BP Offshore Oil Strike” as something so simple, perhaps even children could do it!
Up to four would-be tycoons can compete at exploring for oil, building platforms and laying pipelines to their home countries.
While the game is no longer available, I’m sure a quick trip to Ebay UK may allow you to find a few. Let’s just hope they get it stopped and cleaned up someday soon!

BK Fries… Yuck!
Sorry BK, but while I was having a craving for your (only back for a limited time) Italian Chicken sandwich, I got the combo with the fries – even through I know the onion rings are better, but what the heck – and I’m so disappointed. I need a 3D Camera (like the one shown here, coming soon from DXG and the actual camera shown in the photo in this article) just to explain all the things about them I don’t like.
First, they taste like cardboard. Second, they are never “really hot.” Why, I dunno. Continue reading

Tech Blamed for Less Reading
Leave it to people who sit around noticing the circulation at the library is down and that there are many less people utilizing the printed matter these days to blame it on technology. Why, we should loathe the day Guttenberg … Continue reading

Publicity Stunt or What Is Happening To Us?
Okay, I admit that sometimes writing a thing or two is fun, thereby why I blog. However, I have to admit that sometimes knowing where and when and how your copy will be read can make it even more interesting – like when you are posting comments on ABC News stories or product reviews on a high-traffic website. Like Amazon or TigerDirect.
Today via Seth’s Blog I learned about some ridiculous product reviews on Amazon. Innocent enough you suppose – providing a dose of humor that we can all use in our day – or the beginning of people expressing themselves artfully in a forum best reserved for people making gallant comments that are truly within the realm of reality and provide you with a great resource in making your purchasing decision.
The first review provides a multi-day view of an individual obviously totally immersed in the product – a Bic pen, by the way. Here’s how it goes…

The Environment – Poorly Treated – We Cannot Live
The Environment. It’s critical in our ability to – simply put – live.
What can be more simple to understand? If we continue to poorly treat the environment around us – the one which sustains and satiates our every need – it will no longer be able to do anything for us. Won’t be able to protect us from the harmful rays of the sun. Won’t be able to keep the polar caps frozen. Continue reading

WikiHow Provides Anti-Terrorism Information
I’ve talked about them before – “WikiHow Explains Cheating a Polygraph Test” and “WikiHow to Assist Reducing Prison Rape?” and more – but this time it’s downright scary, “How to Survive a School or Workplace Shooting.” It’s always something with … Continue reading

‘Lonelygirl15′ Docu-Marketing Concept under Scrutiny
As YouTube’s community responds to the swirling controversy regarding LonelyGirl15, the bigger questions come into play. It’s not all about is she/isn’t she real, who is she, where is she, it’s about – can a company achieve marketing success after getting people to get involved and end up feeling ‘duped’ in the whole affair?
Will lonelygirl15 be lonely after all? M Continue reading
