Reuters – Get a Grip!

Reuters, one of the biggest news organizations in the world, has a major flaw on their website.  When watching a video, when you click their full screen icon, it instead pops up a new window, far less than full screen, … Continue reading

Fourth of July UFO Visit – Nothing Major?

There was plenty of speculation that the Earth would be visited by an alien craft (UFO) on July 4th this year, but I haven’t seen any “major” news report as of yet.  I did, however, dig into the MUFON database for reports of July 4th sightings and events, and found there are a ton of reports from the 4th which all have a common theme – glowing orange spheres (orbs) – all over the US! Weed Alert – Very High!

When I refer to my online forecasts, I am always happy to see the day’s Pollen Forecast.  As an asthma sufferer, high levels of pollen can make for a very  uncomfortable day.  While I don’t check it regularly, or actually … Continue reading

Google News Undergoes Redesign leaves brains at home

Google NewsI’ve used iGoogle for about 7 years after leaving myYahoo after iGoogle did it better. I’ve read via Google news and iGoogle – ALL of my news for seven (7) years. Google tracks everything. They know how many times I read each story in my predetermined News configuration. So when Google rolled out a news update, they have a convenient little bar that shows how your Google News Setup is progressing. Now, they want me to identify for them which news I read on a Never/Sometimes/Always basis. WTF, THEY ALREADY KNOW WHAT I READ!!!

This is a flaw. Google, I trust you to know what is best for me. You know what stories, genres, sites and headlines I like to read. You know what I click through to, what a read via FastFlip – can’t you customize my news for me after all this time? Continue reading

The In Betweeners – a comedic relief – from the BBC

British comedy can go either way – and this time it’s a pure win. The In Betweeners, a BBC production, is about a bunch of highschool kids who are not really nerds and not really popular, they are just kinda stuck somewhere in between. Tonight I just finished watching the final episode of the 1st season, and there was a line that was precious. It’s the end of the night, the prom is over, kids are slowly drifting out, a school administrator with little tolerance for petty children crap is standing back assessing the overall situation to which he says:

“Well done children, a fairly innocuous jamboree of adolescent nonsense. Fear not, the relationships that some of you have entered into tonight, well, they may seem like everything now, but they’ll be over in a matter of weeks. “

Google Earth Art – Free Masterpieces Await

Google Eart as ArtGoogle Earth, well known as an incredible tool along with Google Maps (and on my Droid, Google Navigation) – but some people are taking it to a whole new level as art. The image shown here is a portion of an image which was originally a $1MM photograph by artist Andreas Gursky, yet re-created by Florian Freier using Google Earth, photoshop and an inkjet printer. Gods Control Center – Early Morning Giz Chuckle

Gods control panel – so simple yet refined – or is it? Shall we contemplate it’s simplicity? It’s lack of torture, grief and despair? Perhaps the lack of a “rapture” button and only one for the final countdown? gods_bttns.jpg

Twitter: Talk of the Town

Twitter has reached celebrity status this week with CNN “breaking news” reporting Ashton Kutcher broke the 1 million followers mark on Twitter – then he was on Oprah this week teaching her how to use it – and she has. She has told us about her lunch, her sick dog – and America swoons. Getting over 80,000 followers in the course of 24 hours – Twitter is growing mainstream – even to the Denton Texas Police Department. Continue reading

Okay, I admit it – I’m a Craigslist junkie. On it more than my iGoogle or myYahoo homepages. Yeah, that bad! Now and then, while surfing Craigslist.com you spot something that is, well, bizarre. With that said, I introduce a … Continue reading
