Today I noticed for the first time that Reuters has a daily “Odd and Offbeat News” video segment. Always a sucker for the crazy stuff that goes on in the world, I immediately clicked on it. Great presentation, clean and not cluttered or riddled with ads like Yahoo, CNN or other major portals. Their clean look and feel is representative of their overall style and class – they are Reuters….
The lead story was quite impressive with a young Matador “The Mini-Matador” as they call him, “taking it like a man.” Nuff said there, but he does dance around well with the bulls. Then some freak is putting a penny into circulation that is worth $100,000 – great, I’ll be sure to check the next handful I throw in the drawer.
Pigs… Interestingly enough, this clip featured a Pig Race from China – it was a great olypics of sorts, lots of snouts and running around, the little swim caps on their heads for the Piglympic Swimming Event is a cute scene to watch. Check out the clip here.
Finally, When you thought it was safe to go back in the water, an Asian company is now offering treatments where you soak you feet in a tub where specific fish are placed and they, well, nibble the dead skin off your feet and toes. Sounds great, but it’s even better to watch.
Check out Reuters each week for great clips of the wacky and weird from around the globe. I could only aspire to be the feature of one of their stories one day.
- Mini-Matador takes it like man
- Find a penny, pick it up, all your life you’ll have good luck
- When pigs compete, you win
- Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water
