This jarhead, as he has been affectionately named, is a young Florida bear cub who has been spotted in a small community called Weirsdale, nestled within the Ocala National Forest. Originally spotted in late July with the jar stuck on his head, the various park and local friends of the animals were unsuccessful in locating and being able to help the poor cub, who couldn’t eat or drink with his newfound bubblehead.
Finally, they were able to spot the cub along with the usual accompaniment of his mother and sibling, get the mother sleeping soundly so they could tend the hungry and thirsty cub. After a little tussle, they were able to free the bear, and relocate his family to a less populated area.
The bear family was a regular in the town, picking through the garbage and looking for food on a regular basis.
