I am not a big fan of the MAC, but probably because I never really got myself addicted to one like the Mass Applemaniacs. The iPod definitely got my respect. This ‘Shuffle’ thing - WTF are they thinking?
I mean, flash based drives are nothing new. In fact, I’ve had them for quite some time, but this SHUFFLE thing - I mean, having it’s only feature as it’s name, and it be a weak feature on top of that since you can’t see where you are going. Blindly listening to music?
Okay, well others may listen to the radio, but generally I do not. Never being in a car doesn’t hurt this fact and sometimes Internet Radio can catch my attention - however generally the dance music channel on the tv works fine for me - and when I get bored I switch channels.
However, I hate the fact you can’t jump back and forth interactively - well, another story.
Here we have a device which is intended to store lots of music and give you variety. Well, that’s fine- but let me see what I’m doing. There is no display on the new Apple device, and I have to use the iTunes client to get music on it?
C’mon guys - you are killing me here. People are not THIS retarded that they need the controls limited on their devices to the bare necessities, and at a least put a slim display on the thing long-ways. You gotta know what’s playing.
Heck, if I have multiples, then I could just toss them in a hat and grab one out to decide what to listen to. That’s my equation to the shuffle. A pre-shuffle of music selection. Or, I guess I could use a Sharpie and number them, them put a list of the music on them on a bulletin board with a listing of the music on it.
I hope that the USB Flash pricing doesnt’ come crashing down. I mean, what are you guys using? Based on the mount speed (or not) being reported, seems like it may be CHEAP flash. Gotta be if they are actually making a profit on this stuff.
Cause it’s just otherwise stupid.
