All of a sudden the world is abuzz with GPay (I’ll be saying Gpay from here on out, but it’s really Google Payments) - the latest online payment method from who else, of course, other than Google. Yep, Google, for some strategic visionary reason, has been forming this new payment method over the last several years, so what about PayPal?

As anyone who reads me often knows, I hate Google, or any search engine, full of crap. I made my entry into this industry being able to legitimately populate Google, Alta Vista and Yahoo with great content pages and sites. In my early years using a platform called ViaWeb which then evolved into Yahoo Store, now Yahoo Merchant Solutions - there weren’t any rules. People were just kind of making them up, that’s how I ended up explaining search engines and spiders in Catalog magazine in 1999. Only 7 years ago, but a lifetime ago online.

Google criticized for Private Data Listings

Google doesn’t pry into backend systems or have super secret access keys at getting data, but that doesn’t stop the media from placing the blame on them. Holding them responsible for evaluating the content of billions of webpages is nearly impossible. Finding lists of social security numbers on the web is far from hard to do either. Someone, at the school, put it online and are trying to “c” their “a”.
