Online Video – Finally… everyone gets it… Especially YouTube

Jellyfish from the New York Aquarium Video from You Tube YouTube is a great online video sharing service, totally Web 2.0′d out, quite an incredible compilation of videos spanning every possible genre you can imagine. It’s incredible that so many thousands of videos can be in a single place, yet have a clean and efficient design, sans clutter and a great user experience overall. I would say it’s a tiny bit less responsive than my liking, but I’m just a pig….

I spotted this great video of a jellyfish (at the New York Aquarium, part of the “Alien Stingers” exhibit) and it really amazed me that the comments went on to inquire as to the background music. The videographer actually did their research, finding the tracks name and even where to buy it!

The full video…

Video is coming of age online. It’s still not about person to person video, but the advent of UTMS service in the US will bring that about quickly. As readily available online, you’ll see how camera phones are being overused to capture everything, retarded things like this, and this.

Big kudos to YouTube.com for getting video right, the first time.
