“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” That’s the law, at least in Saudi Arabia, and they have been asking doctors about the possibility of severing a man’s spinal column to inflict the same punishment that he inflicted on another man. While their law specifically provides for this type of punishment, some people think it’s going a bit far.
According to the BBC report, it’s simply cruel. Amnesty International has urged Saudi authorities to stop this insanity. There are many people watching to see what happens in this case, and in the event they do sever this man’s spine, it’s really freaking mean!
The victim’s brother asked for the cruel punishment, according to Islamic law, after the fight, which involved a meat cleaver, left the man paralyzed and also lost a foot.
