SMS Shorthand – ala T-Mobile

T-Mobile has compiled a list (as per them) of SMS ‘shorthand.’

You know what I mean, like ‘lol‘ or ‘rofl‘ or ‘swm‘. They are used all over. Seemingly, there is a variance from list to list, region to region and some of those that are published make you say, “Um, huh?” Like, could you tell me why ANYONE would want to use “VoiceStream” in a conversation? They aren’t even in business anymore! One, I just couldn’t take it. I’ve placed it here for you:

Lurk = To hang out in the background/viewing

What does Lurk have to do with Acroynms or abbreviations or shorthand? Lurk is already an english word! Thanks for the definition!
