STI Processor for Cell Phones to be announced today

Sony, Toshiba and IBM (The ‘STI Group’) are to announce today a cellular processor they have designed. This chip will be brought to light at the International Solid State Circuits Conference and they will also about how it will revolutionize cellular technology in the coming years.

There is a lot of work going on around the globe to get this new processor ready for the Playstation 3 among other products, including Toshiba’s new HDTV. AMD and Intel must be concerned – they own the CPU market across all platforms today and with the bigger and better cellphones planned for the coming years, they need to be very concerned about their Processor being used in mobile technology. It’s going to sweep us off our feet.

AMD/Intel- wake up! “Don’t let them eat your children (in the famous words of Gilbert Fiorentino, CEO TigerDirect.com)”

STI the revolutionized chip that was ever made with ground breaking speeds of 4.0 GHz and containing 7 SPEs (AKA Processor). My question is “Who wouldn’t be scared?”.
