Walls Old Fashioned Ice Cream & Fudge

Fudge.  Not something we eat every day, but when we want it, oh do we want it!  This 2010-07-17_13-31-45_227 morning was one such day — I simply wanted fudge.  Last night I actually thought about making some before I realized I’m waaay too lazy these days to undertake such an adventure, so where do I turn?  Google.

So it seems that in Miami there is only one REAL place to go for great fudge, and that’s Walls Old-Fashioned Ice Cream located at 8075 SW 67th Ave in Miami.  So, Saturday morning ‘errand juices’ on full, I set off to quench my appetite.

Upon arrival, the site was everything that online reviews said it would be.  A small shop, nestled in a sleepy neighborhood, without the pretentious tourist trade.  When i entered, the first thing I noted was their hours — open until Midnight on Friday and Saturday each week — wow — if I get a hankering its truly just a short ride for some great ice cream and snacks!

DSC_0019The owner is a pleasant chap, offering up samples of his wares — and noting the prices, this place was truly affordable.  Not your high-end shop, but down home goodness — with smart pricing.

So, I dive in.

Then choose more.. In the end, I ended up with this great box with five different flavors of fudge.

I am so glad I was able to contain myself.   Let’s see how delicious each of the flavors look — cause they taste just as delicious!

Riptide 2.0 – You Rock!

Riptide 2.0 features Lonny Paul Time-Lapse VideoMiami’s New Times is one of my most regularly read publications. I enjoy their wit, humor and ability to be real without over editing and excessive guidelines as to language and use of profanity. When a co-worker sent me an email saying “One of your videos is on NewTimes” I was like, “What?”

So, thanks to the New Times and the Riptide staff for featuring my video. I’m truly grateful.

Playing with the camera, I decided to play with the time lapse, it was a pretty morning. Then, the clouds and storms started rolling in.

And no, it isn’t a waterproof camera. I am just stupid.
