Ever have a project a work that piqued your interest? Made you want to work a little bit harder to help someone else that you could lend a helping hand too?
Ya, I’ve been there – in fact, I was there today – trying to make a innocent little campaign for another department something special – then you realize you are being used. The project manager leaves at 4PM while you look aghast – not understanding why he doesn’t want to see the project through. Then, his boss passes by and gives you even more reason not to help – after they threaten serious disciplinary action on one of their team members just for working on what the project manager’s boss terms ‘your project.’
First, not my project – it’s for another department – and I’m only trying to assist you in maximizing your ROI. But that – I guess – isn’t appreciated.
Doing something special is nothing new for me – that’s my specialty – and if someone doesn’t appreciate it – why do it at all? So I didn’t – I left them flailing in the wind – and hope that it all comes together due to a deep rooted need for the company, as a whole (what a unique concept), to succeed.
Anger takes different forms too – generally, I’d simply go home and figure out a method in which to drown my sorrows – and then just keep working, as I always do. Instead, tonight, for the first time ever, I didn’t even go straight home – instead I went to the bar. Yep, straight to the bar. Few Captain and Cokes (and no, I didn’t do the ‘stance’) – and I’m ready for anything, so here I am composing this blog posting after a few and ready to take on the world again.
Greatness.
Something anyone can try to contain – but in the end – always shines – doesn’t it?
