Verizon to launch 3G Home Wireless Service

©2004Wireless technologies have allowed many countries to grow their communication networks quickly without the daunting task of laying wire for an entire network. The wireless infastructure allows for rapid deployment and minimal impact like a cable-dig would require.

These wireless roll-outs include not only the standard fare of ‘next to free‘ handsets (and many initiatives are underway to get this cost under $20 per handset), but home phones which interface with the wireless network for home telephone service.

The Verizon Wireless “AXP-C3600″ is a 3G CDMA2000 1X cordless phone with a CDMA2000 modem built into the base. Utilization of the phone allows you to bypass the local telephone company directly, utilizing the wireless network in lieu of a landline.
